HS2 (High Speed Rail) can be considered the largest infrastructure project in Europe. Its construction will take the next 15 years and the new lines will be operational until the next century. Overall, the HS2 trains will serve 25 stations that will connect around 30 million people, with an estimated 100 million passengers a year upon completion of the sections.
This is one of the largest ongoing projects in Europe in the transport sector. It deals with the realization of nos. 4 new railway lines for a total of about 200 km.
For this important project in Spain, FPC Italia is starting the shipment of the first spherical bearings type Tetron SB. The total of the order provides for n. 292 devices including fixed, unidirectional and multidirectional bearings.
Following information collected over the years and after a timely inspection carried out at the end of last year, together with the highway manager we have defined a global maintenance intervention aimed at restoring the correct functioning of the bearings and anti-seismic restraints.
This is the supply of ISOSISM isolators and SX rubber expansion joints for 5 mixed structure viaducts and precisely: n. 28 HDRB dia. 450 and n. 18 HDRB dia 500 mm all made with HARD compound and over 100 meters of expansion joints.
We have been to some sites for which Freyssinet BU Italy has been awarded the activities for base isolation with seismic devices.
FPC Italia and Freysas have been awarded an important job to build 3 different ILM viaducts (incremental launch method) for the new Fuzuli-Shusha highway in Azerbaïdjan.
Freyssinet's BU Italy has been awarded a job as interesting as it is delicate. This is the retrofit of two hospital pavilions made entirely of steel for which we have designed, produced and tested rubber isolators type HDRB dia. 400 mm of the ISOSISM range.
We are talking about Tetron SB spherical bearings for the Rail Rabat bridge of the Casablanca railway line. Bearings designed with vertical loads ranging from 6000 to 26000 kN, horizontal loads over 3000 kN and movement over 200 mm.
In recent weeks, sites Dept. has completed maintenance work on the modular joint type LWS 1200 on the South carriageway of the Morra viaduct (SAT).
