FPC ITALIA IS ON THE 1915 CANAKKALE PROJECT IN TURKEY!
FPC ITALIA, together with the Turkish
branch Freysas and Freyssinet International, got the supply of spherical
bearings type TETRON SB, sliding pendulum type ISOSISM® PS and
hydraulic devices type ISOSISM® FD for the V01 and V06 Viaducts
and for the approaches bridges. All these structures are part of the 1915
Canakkale Bridge project that, once completed, will be the suspension bridge
with the longest center span in the world.
Kýnalý-Tekirdað-Çanakkale-Balýkesir
motorway is part of the big plan of
investments made by Turkey to develop the country, connecting Europe to
Asia. It is a 321 km-long motorway, with an 82 km section between Malkara
and Çanakkale. This motorway is strategic since it will be the first route
in Turkey linking Europe and Asia outside Istanbul.
The design and construction of the V06
viaduct was assigned respectively to the Technical Office of Freyssinet
and the DGP of Freysas.
The Technical Department of FPC ITALIA
has designed 68 spherical bearings type TETRON SB equipped with special
sliding material ISOGLIDE, with a maximum vertical capacity of 23000kN,
a horizontal load of 4600kN and movements of 940mm and 28 fluid-dynamic
devices type ISOSISM FD with a load of 4000kN and a total movement of 925mm.
Tests of fluid-dynamic devices have been
successfully performed at the University of California at San Diego laboratory
in the United States.
Thanks to the coordination among the technical,
commercial, production and logistics departments, it is undoubtedly one
of the most important projects completed after the difficult period of
the lockdown.
