SPECIAL SPHERICAL BEARINGS FOR THE LEVANTE STADIUM IN VALENCIA, SPAIN
FPC Italia, in cooperation with Freyssinet
Spain, has completed the supply of the spherical bearings type TETRON SB
with anti-lifting system, for the modernization of the City of Valencia
Stadium, where the Levante football team plays.
The stadium, inaugurated in 1969, will be completely transformed by adding a light roof, which will allow the installation of a new audio and lighting system and new video scoreboards.
Inside, all the spaces will be redistributed, creating new entrances, new meeting areas and new commercial activities.
The TETRON SB free sliding spherical bearings are provided with special sliding material ISOGLIDE and have been designed by the technical office of FPC ITALIA. The bearings will support the new roof.
These special spherical bearings have the peculiarity of adapting to very important rotations, they have a vertical load capacity of 1000 kN and are equipped with an anti-lifting system for negative loads up to 200 kN, moreover they can reach multidirectional displacements up to 250 mm.
The design takes into consideration that negative load, rotations and movements happens at the same time.
The success of this supply was achieved thanks to the synergy between the technical departments of FPC ITALIA and FREYSSINET SPAIN, which, together with the IDOM engineering office, were able to understand and satisfy the technical needs of this challenging work.
Essential for the success of the supply, the attention to the customer, Grupo Bertolín, from the Spanish subsidiary and the professionalism and accuracy in the management of the production by the Supply Chain of FPC ITALIA which allowed the delivery of the bearings on time in spite of the difficult period connected to the pandemic Covid-19.
