SPHERICAL BEARINGS WITH ISOGLIDE FOR THE RAILWAY LINE DAR ES SALAAM-MOROGORO IN TANZANIA
FPC ITALIA, with the cooperation of FREYSAS
has finished the supply of the big spherical bearings with ISOGLIDE for
the project of the railway bridge located on the line which will connect
Dar Es Salaam and Morogoro Cities in Tanzania.
The railway line is 205km long and is the first one reaching a speed of
160 km/h in East Africa. It will have six main stations at Dar es Salaam,
Pugu, Soga, Ruvu, Ngerengere and Morogoro.
Dar Es Salaam is the largest city in Tanzania and in the East Africa. It
was the capital of the country until
1974 and then the capital was transferred to Dodoma. Ýn spite of that,
it remains the commercial capital and the first port of the region.
FPC ITALIA manufactured and tested 6 spherical bearings type TETRON SB
ISO with a maximum vertical load of 22000kN and a max. horizontal force
of 9000 kN.
The project of the railway will give a great contribution to the trade,
to the employment and to the tourism of the entire area, being a direct
link to the port of Dar Es Salaam and to the ocean of the near Uganda,
Rwanda, Burundi and Congo.
