Doctor Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange in Accra, Ghana

After supplying the elastomeric bearings for the first phase of “Doctor Kwame Nkrumah Circle Interchange” performed by Construtora Queiroz Galvao in Accra (Ghana) during Summer 2014, Alga has just received the technical approval by the designer for supplying the bearings of the second phase of the same project.

The first supply was for Nos.124 bearings (the dimensions of the biggest ones of which were 800x800x305mm) according to European standard EN with CE mark.

The new lot includes Nos.243 pieces to be supplied at the beginning of 2015. The dimensions of the biggest type of bearings are 1000x1000x292mm.

The new road system will replace the previous circular interchange (Kwame Nkrumah Circle) which was built in 1960 and has just been demolished to create the new structure. Such a new road system will facilitate the movement of the vehicles making it safer and reducing the number of accidents.
