FPC ITALIA, in cooperation with Freyssinet
Colombia, has supplied the bearings for the construction of the new highway
running from Pasto to Rumichaca, near the border with Ecuador. This new
83 km long highway optimizes communication between the south of Colombia
and the border with Ecuador and connects the cities of Rumichaca, Ipiales,
Contadero, Iles, Imuès, El Pedregal, Tangua, Yacuanquer and Pasto. This
highway is part of the "Fourth Generation of New Highways of Colombia"
program called 4G, through which the Colombian government has decided to
modernize the motorway network in accordance with international safety
and road standards.
The Concessionaire Vial Unión del Sur, which obtained an international financing of 513 million Euros, is led 60% by the Spanish company Sacyr Concesiones and 40% by the Ecuadorian company Herdoiza Crespo Construcciones.
The FPC ITALIA technical department has designed the pot bearings type TETRON CD with anti-lifting system, the rubber bearings and the spherical bearings type TETRON SB with special sliding material ISOGLIDE, some of which are equipped also with anti-lifting system and fuses.
The viaducts on which the bearings will be installed are 5: Boqueron, Macal, La Magdalena, Rio Sapuyes and Porvenir.
The direct customer of Freyssinet Colombia, Sacyr, requested a delivery in a very short time and in compliance with this inquiry, FPC ITALIA was able to produce most of the bearings in just two months!
Another success, that continues with the supply of the second part of the bearings that will take place within the end of 2019, made possible by a great team work starting from the quick issue of the project and of all the technical documentation up to the production and quality control.
