THE SEISMICALLY ISOLATED MILITARY BASE OF "CARABINIERI" IN CESENA

Within the scope of the upgrading of the shopping mall Conad in Montefiore (FC), the construction of a new building has been planned. This building will be the Cesena military base of “Carabinieri” (Italian army unit).

The building has been designed to be base isolated and FPC ITALIA has got the project with the company P.I. 2000 S.r.l. located in Forlì. FPC ITALIA has to provide ISOSISM® HDRB rubber isolators and sliders type TETRON® GL, in accordance with the European Standards EN15129 and EN1337.

The supply consists of 35 rubber isolators and 39 sliders, installed on the columns located in the foundation. The building is both residential and dedicated to the activities of the army.

The devices have been successfully tested, before shipping, at our own laboratory ISOLAB® located in Montebello della Battaglia (PV).

Even hoping it will never happen, the isolation system designed by FPC ITALIA is able to grant the full operability in case of earthquake.
