During April 2018, the site division of FPC
ITALIA performed the lifting of the new railway viaduct in Serravalle Scrivia
(AL) for the replacement of the temporary rubber bearings with the definitive
spherical bearings type Tetron SB with ISOGLIDE®.
This is the first supply of the bearings with the special sliding material, designed by FPC ITALIA Technical Dept., manufactured and installed in Italy.
The bearings have been successfully tested at our laboratory ISOLAB, according to EN 1337 standard and to Italian Railway Authority specifications.
The special sliding material ISOGLIDE® has been developed in order to obtain high performances in terms of resistance and durability. The use of such material for this and for the future projects, will allow designing spherical bearings with higher load capacity granting smaller overall dimensions.
The lifting of the railway viaduct has been performed by means of volumetric oleodynamic control unit with electronic check of the movements. Thanks to this technology, the entire bridge has been lifted, allowing the performance of the works simultaneously. In this specific site, a lifting greater than 140 mm has been executed.
