COMPLETION OF THE SECOND PHASE OF THE REHABILITATION AND STRENGTHENING OF THE VIADUCT ON THE COUNTY ROAD 30 IN ACQUI TERME WITH FOREVA SOLUTIONS.


After the first phase of activities for the rehabilitation, strengthening and replacement of the damaged joints on the viaduct at km 31+610 of the county road 30 “DI VALLE BORMIDA” in the Acqui Terme municipality, FPC Italia has been appointed by the local authority “Provincia di Alessandria” to make the viaduct safe with a second stage of works.

This new phase, included the lifting of the viaduct, the rehabilitation of the concrete blocks, the replacement of the bearings and the renovation of the beams heads, involved the Site Division of the FPC Italia for approx. 3 months.

The lifting has been performed by means of a volumetric oleodynamic control unit with an electronic synchronized movements check. Before this operation, the post-tensioning of the transverse beams has been carried out, in order to guarantee a safe complete lifting.

All the areas of the concrete blocks, used for the placing of the lifting jacks, have been renovated and strengthened before the installation of the jacks. A protection plate near the transverse beam has been used, also to grant a good distribution of the tensions during the period of the bridge lifted.

Once the bridge has been lifted, the renovation of all the concrete blocks with FOREVA® has been performed and the replacement of the rubber bearings according to EN1337-3 has been carried out.

Finally, we have demolished the damaged areas for the renovation of the beams heads, previously sandblasted and added with new rebars, concluding, in this way, all the activities for the safeguard of the viaduct.
