MAINTENANCE OF BEARINGS ON RAILWAY BRIDGE

Freyssinet BU Italia site dept., in recent weeks, has completed a very demanding and delicate intervention on a railway bridge of the Termoli-Campobasso line in the Ripabottoni area.

It was an intervention with repositioning and functional restoration of n. 2 spherical railway bearings, one unidirectional and one multidirectional and restoration activities of n. 2 fixed spherical bearings.

For the realization of the spare parts, all the procedures were followed with relative acceptance tests and structural materials control in accordance with the RFI / ITALFERR special specifications.

The intervention was carried out in three main phases starting with the installation of the service castles and related lifting equipment. After making the lifting jacks safe, we started the restoration activities of both the deteriorated parts and the anticorrosive protection.

For all the bearings object of the intervention, the height was carried out with quick-hardening self-leveling pourable mortar to ensure smooth operation after unloading the lifting system.

The intervention was performed according to the time schedule with an excellent final result.
